So the model was late to the shoot, and instead of an hour of light, I had 15 minutes, and I was fighting for space with 5 other photographer. And then of course, I find out I don’t know how to use my flash as well as I thought I did. But I did get some, and I am happy with that.

I shot this way after the sun went down. In order to get a sharp focus, I had the ISO cracked up, and the shutter speed very fast. Thank goodness for Raw, cause I was able to bring it back for almost complete darkness.

I also picked a great, and huge, book on food styling. Which gave me the tip to use a heat gun to soften the chocolate chips in order to make them glisten in the photo.

I satrted going a little crazy buying up small plates, cups, and this tea set for the shoot. A perfect excuse to indulge my love of funky plates and cups.

So I did a food shoot a while ago, and I didn’t like the way most of them turned out. So I did it again, this time at home where I could control it more. I played and played with this shot. Got one I liked, and then realized that it was the wrong cookie for this set up. A serious d’oh moment.
